It Takes a Village to Protect a Rainforest

Rainforest protection is more than trees: it’s about people.

Right now, families across the Amazon are working together to keep their rainforests thriving – and you’re helping them do it.

A Handful of People. A Lot of Rainforest Protected

Here’s something incredible: each village we partner with in the Peruvian Amazon protects an average area of rainforest the size of central London. That’s roughly 28,000 acres each.

So we did the math, and because you support 25 communities in the Amazon, that’s well over 630,000 acres of rainforest safeguarded – and it’s about to get better.

The rainforest managed by our Indigenous partners stores a massive 110 million tonnes of carbon. That’s not just impressive, it’s climate action on a mighty scale.

And the most remarkable part? Just 10,000 people make all this rainforest protection possible. People power at its finest.

Who are the People Protecting the Rainforest?

The communities protecting these forests are just like yours. The only difference? Their home happens to be the rainforest.

Life in the forest brings unique challenges, like a lack of electricity, minimal access to healthcare and, of course, the growing impacts of the climate crisis hitting hard.

In times of desperation and without support, it’s a lose-lose situation. Families are forced to sell their trees for much-needed cash and, in the worst case, leave their home behind. It’s a situation nobody should face.

You’re Re-writing the Narrative

When you give, your cash funds solutions that strengthen rainforest families, like Vilma’s and Felix’s and stop deforestation in its tracks.

To access water, Vilma and her children were forced to make daily dangerous treks to the nearest river, injuries were frequent and medical care unaffordable. With your cash, Vilma invested in piped water for her whole community, eliminating the danger.

After illegal mining activity polluted the river and threatened Felix and his community’s food security, malnutrition rates were high. Your cash helped launch a fish farming project that now feeds not just his community but has created a booming enterprise feeding families across the region.

Clean water, sustainable food, and strong livelihoods:  this is how communities keep their rainforests standing, and you’re making it happen.

This is What We Can Achieve – Together

Your support fuels the work of Indigenous communities, ensuring their land, culture, and future are safeguarded. This is what real impact looks like.
