Pamela Anderson is helping to protect an area of rainforest the size of St. James’s Park in London as an unusual birthday gift for Vivienne Westwood.
The actress and model who was the muse for one of Dame Vivienne’s clothing campaigns, is helping Cool Earth to protect 70 acres of endangered rainforest in celebration of the designer’s 70th birthday. The former Baywatch star told Cool Earth:
“I’m really excited to support Cool Earth and give Vivienne such an incredible rainforest gift. She is one of my favourite people.”
Vivienne Westwood is a dedicated supporter of the rainforest charity Cool Earth, helping to launch Cool Earth Coffee last year. Pamela Anderson was interested to join forces with the charity in order to give a meaningful and special gesture to her close friend who turns 70 on 8th of April. Cool Earth co-founder, the MP Frank Field welcomes the surprise support of the American actress.
“Vivienne’s passionate belief in Cool Earth’s work has made her one of our most cherished champions. How wonderful to have Pamela Anderson engaging in such an immediate way to make a positive difference to our environment by helping to save 70 acres of rainforest for Vivienne’s birthday.”
The certificate of sponsorship, confirms the area of land in Peru being protected in the name of Vivienne Westwood by Pamela Anderson, and Cool Earth. This sponsorship enables Cool Earth to work in partnership with the local community, to make trees worth more standing, helping to Cool the planet, than cut down for timber or cattle ranching.
